Derrick Jones-

Chef “D”, a bay area native, began cooking as a child with his grandparents. where smoking meats is a family tradition. both sets of derrick’s grandparents migrated from the south, like so many others during world war ii.

after graduating high school, derrick’s grandfather bobby, paid his tuition to attend the san francisco culinary academy, le cordon bleu, where he learned the fundamentals of cookery before entering the work force. chef derrick has spent his career in the bay area mentoring under respectable chef’s and for the past decade was a sous chef at pixar animation studio.

Randy Valdez-

Randy, also a east bay native, has dedicated his career to evolution, from michelin to ‘mom & pops’ to luxury hotels, he’s tried to always learn. while in culinary school he started working as a bus boy and has since worked in every position possible to better understand how to run a successful restaurant. along the way he’s discovered the adage “be careful for what you ask for” is a real thing and positive affirmations actually work.

throughout the years he’s been lucky enough to work with some amazing people, in beautiful restaurants & hotels from San Francisco to NYC, Las Vegas, Napa & Sonoma counties. along the way he’s worked with some of the industries brightest minds to help guide him through the process and he’ll be forever grateful for the opportunities granted.
